Hibiscus Thyme Iced Tea

How is everyone’s week going? Here in Minnesota, the dog days of summer are upon us and it is hot outside. It’s also very hazy from all the forest fires and I hope everyone is staying safe. To cool off this summer, I have been making this Hibiscus Thyme Iced Tea! It is a light and refreshing alternative to pop and soda.

If you have never had hibiscus tea before, I highly recommend it. It is floral with a hint of tang. It can be found in most larger grocery stores and I’ve even bought it off Amazon as well. I like this recipe because it doesn’t have too many ingredients and only has 1/4 cup of sweetener.

I start by heating 8 cups of water. Next, I steep the hibiscus tea bags with fresh thyme until it cools down– about 30 mins. Then I add in lemon juice and maple syrup. You can you any sweetener you’d like; honey, maple syrup, stevia– it’s all good!

This recipe will keep in the fridge for 3-4 days, but it rarely lasts that long. You can even add in some vodka for an adult twist 🙂
